Matthew 24:1-2
"Then Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came up to show Him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said to them, 'Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down.'"

- In the last few weeks, Jesus' disciples have seen so many things.

- They have been sent out with power to testify to the coming of the Lord.

- They have seen the fruit of their testimony as people have turned to
Him.

- They have ssen Jesus enter Jerusalem as a beloved leader.

- They have seen Him go to the temple and run out the dishonest
merchants.

- They have seen Jesus clash over and over with the religious leaders.

- They have heard Jesus lament over the fall of Jerusalem.

But seeing all these things, hearing all these things, HAVE THEY SEEN OR HAVE THEY HEARD AT ALL?
"Then Jesus went out and departed from the temple"

- He is leaving another day of intense conflict. He is accelerating rapidly towards a Roman cross. His time is very short. His followers are very precious.
"His disciples came up to show Him the buildings of the temple."

- "disciple"- a person who subscribes to the teachings of a master and assists in spreading them.

- They had given up much to follow Christ. They loved Jesus. They were willing to sacrifice. BUT COULD THEY SEE? BUT COULD THEY HEAR? Their world is about to come crashing apart! The innocent Master of these disciples is soon to be arrested, tried and killed! Jesus has been warning them for days, weeks, months, even years, BUT DO THEY SEE? DO THEY HEAR? All around us men and women are rushing towards a sinner's hell.
John 3:14-16
"And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoeer believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved."

- God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are at work all around us, seeking to reach and to save the lost. BUT DO WE SEE? DO WE HEAR? Or are like these disciples? These men have followed Him for years, but just don't see Him or hear Him.

Their world is about o crumble! They have been warned! They certainly should know! BUT WHAT IS ON THEIR MIND? "JESUS HAVE SEEN HOW PRETTY THE TEMPLE IS?"

Does today's "disciple of Christ" know the world is in trouble? If we are looking and listening at all WE SHOULD KNOW! BUT WHAT ARE OUR MINDS ON?

WHAT ARE WE COMING TO JESUS, ASKING?

- Are we asking for things? Are we asking for health? Are we asking for prosperity?

WHAT IS IMPORTANT TO US?

- Is it the appearance of our church? Is it the maintenance of our church? Is is the finances of our church?

JESUS' DISCIPLES SHOULD HAVE BEEN CONCERNED ABOUT WHAT HE HAD SHOWN THEM AND WHAT HE HAD TOLD THEM. BUT THEY WERE NOT SEEING OR HEARING. WE SHOULD BE CONCERNED WITH ALL THAT JESUS IS SHOWING US AND TELLING US. BUT ARE WE SEEING OR HEARING?

"And Jesus said to them, 'Do you not see all these things?'"
- There is no question that Jesus is pointing all around Him at the pomp and splendor of the temple when He says, "Do you not see all these things?"

- But I believe if these who had followed Jesus, had paid a little more attention to SEEING AND HEARING

-- they would not have been dwelling on trivial things in a time of a total crisis.

-- later they would not have so much trouble staying awake when Jesus asks them to pray.

-- then they might not have seemed so cowardly when Jesus was arrested.

"DO YOU NOT SEE ALL THESE THINGS?"

- Do you think possibly Jesus might be asking us the same type of questions?
"Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down."
- I wonder how much time we spend worrying about he church, when we should be looking to see what Jesus is doing in the lost?

- I wonder how much time we spend worrying about our future, when we should be looking to see how Jesus is seeking to change the future of the lost?

- I wonder how much time we spend worrying about our stuff, when in reality one day everything on this earth will be totally destroyed by God?

Jesus' disciples had a question, "Jesus, have you seen the temple?" When their world was about to crumble!

Today we want to ask Jesus, "Will I ahve enough to retire?" Whenthe world is dying and going to hell!

Matthew 6:33- "But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."
